HI!

We have been reading the Feed by M.T. Anderson in my English class. So far the book hasn't been that bad. It is about a world where people have direct access to the internet through their brains. Below I have written comments on certain parts that stood out to me. If you are interested in reading the book, I suggest that you don't read my comments.

“The thing I hate about is that you can feel how old and empty it is. I don’t know if the others felt like I felt, about space? But I think they did, because they all got louder.”

I feel the same way as Titus. I don’t like complete silence, like in space. I often find comfort and noise in music, just like Titus did in his friends.
|
“We looked at ourselves. We all looked kind of bad. We looked tired and sleepy, and even though we’re all pretty good-looking, except Link, we were pale and our hair greasy.”

I think that either Titus is very self-aware, conceited, or honest. I find it impressive either way, confidence in one’s looks is a hard thing to achieve.
I also think that the comment about his friend Link is brutally honest. I’m not sure if Link knows, or if Titus would tell him.

“Her shoulders were like, all bent in, as if she didn’t want anyone to be looking at her.”

First of all, that is very observant of him. He really likes her, it’s kind of creepy. Second, I relate to that so much. I also hunch my shoulders because I don’t want attention. So it is possible that like me she is introverted.

“Omigod! Like big thanks to everyone for not telling me that my lesion is like meg completely spreading.”

This is the second time that lesions have been mentioned. Are these very common? I had to look them up. Lots of people in the book seem to have them. I also think that this is a good time to comment on the language… “meg”, seriously? I don’t know if I like the way this book has been written. But then again we use weird language too.

“…his eyes were wide like he was in the mal, but I’m not sure he was in the mal.”

Overall, the final chapter was confusing and strange. I also wonder what the mal is. I think it’s a way to get high or something. I also am glad that Titus and Violet are talking. I think that Violet could do Titus some good.

That's what I thought about the first 40 pages of Feed. Sorry, if you found this post a bit boring. Hopefully, the next post will be more chill. Have a good day. Write you later!
